Rick v. Mckinley Biography Travel Insurance Specialist

Born 12/25/49

1972 -  graduated from uc berkeley’s haas school of business with a bachelor of science degree in business administration.

1973 – 1974.   Personal lines underwriter trainee at the maryland casualty insurance company in san francisco.

1974 – hired by maurice a. Gale & company, an insurance brokerage firm in san francisco as a broker trainee to help in servicing house accounts.

1975 – obtained property & casualty and life & heath insurance agent & broker’s licenses.  License #0677434.  I serviced personal and commercial lines policies for all types of risks.  This involved the gathering of underwriting information, application and form completion, marketing of these specifications to insurance companies, presentation of the quote(s) to the client, and final sale.

1980 – purchased maurice a. Gale & company along with one partner.  Became president & owner of the firm.   I continued to handle and develop new personal & commerical accounts.

1982 – joined maurice a. Gale & company with alameda associates insurance agency, inc. Changed the firm’s name to dba: damato & gale where i became it’s secretary and treasurer.  Again, i continued to act as an insurance salesman handling and selling both personal and commercial lines insurance products to a wide variety of clients both locally, nationwide, and worldwide.

1983- bought & incorporated damato & gale from alameda associates along with two other partners where i remained the secretary and treasurer. And  continued in my capacity as an insurance salesman of personal & commercial lines accounts.

1984 – sold my interest in damato & gale, and brought my accounts to alameda associates, where i continued to service my clients, and develop
New ones.  Since i live in alameda, this was a natural move that allowed me more time to spend on my accounts and to develop new business.

2004 – to present – purchased alameda associates from previous owner and have been running the company and selling insurance in my capacity as owner and insurance broker.
